Frequently Asked Questions

Can you fly in controlled airspace?

Yes, with the proper FAA approval. We have expertise in obtaining approval for controlled airspace flights.

Does the drone pilot I hire have to be licensed?

Yes, but it’s technically not a license, it’s a certification (FAA Part 107). No one can accept or complete any commercial work without the FAA Part 107 certification. We are both certified and highly trained for each specific mission.

How much does it cost?

Each job is unique, and we are happy to give you a no-obligation quote on your specific job once we get the details. Things that affect rates include the type of drone airframe and camera payload necessary, crew required, the complexity of the shots and airspace clearances needed.

Can you fly over any terrain including water?

Yes, we have flown over land, mountains, and water. We’ve also flown in controlled airspace and flight restricted zones with prior permission and clearance from the FAA and TSA. Since wind can be more of a factor, this type of flying takes special preparation and planning and may take extra crew to complete successfully.

Can you fly at night?

Yes, with properly equipped aircraft as well as authorization from the FAA for Night Operations that we are experienced in obtaining. This type of flying can be dangerous though, so it requires extra crew and planning for a successful flight.

Can you fly when it’s raining or snowing?

Foul-weather flying is possible but takes specialized drones and cameras payloads. We’d be happy to discuss your vision and what it would take to accomplish it.

How long does a typical aerial project take?

Simple projects can take a couple of hours, while complex missions with actors, vehicles, and intricate maneuvers can take an entire day or more to plan, coordinate, and complete. Some work will require multiple days at locations so proper planning and communication is the key.

Do you have insurance?

We carry a $1,000,000.00 liability policy that covers most of our missions. We also have a short term liability increase of up to $5,000,000.00 for more complex operations. Never hire a drone operator who does not carry insurance.
